How to use the maps
Health and social care maps are available in two versions.
- The original 'static' PDF version enables the user to gain an overview of a local authority district or clinical commissioning group (CCG), with topic specific chapters covering particular themes, including an infographic summary. Each of the maps or charts can be 'cut and pasted' into your own presentation or report (please ensure you credit us in your document). You can also download our indicator definition tool (XLSM, 2.2 MB). There are currently more than 350 graphics for each local authority district or CCG.
- The ‘interactive’ version of health and social care maps uses Instant Atlas software. This allows you to compare ward data, as well as comparing district local authority data and CCG data for a range of indicators. There are two interactive versions; a map version and an area profile. The map version displays a quintiled map, time series chart and a geographical comparison chart, and can be used to compare wards for a single indicator. The area profile version contains a spine chart displaying data for all indicators for the selected geography. You can also download the indicator values for local use and a simple help guide (PDF, 971.0 KB)
