Accidents account for 13% of emergency hospital admissions and 5% of total hospital admissions nationally. Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death for people under the age of 39.

Data and reports

Information on unintentional injury, falls and Accident and Emergency (A&E) attendances can be found in our Health and Social Care Maps.

We have also produced a needs assessment for unintentional injuries (PDF, 1.4 MB), and an evaluation of the Kent Fire and Rescue Service safe and well visits (PDF, 692.3 KB).


Library services

The Public Health and Social Care Library can provide access to library and knowledge services, including books and journal articles relating to accidents and their impact on public health. We can also produce bespoke literature searches.
