Joint local Health and Wellbeing Strategy
The Kent Health and Wellbeing board is responsible for publishing a joint local health and wellbeing strategy (JLHWS), which sets out the priorities for improving the health and wellbeing of its local population and how the identified needs will be addressed, including addressing health inequalities, and which reflects the evidence of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).
The Kent Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy is also the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Strategy.
The Integrated Care System is made up of many organisations, which play a role in supporting the health, care and wellbeing of people in our area. It includes: the local NHS, Kent County Council, Medway Council, all 12 districts, parish and town councils, local health watch, housing authorities, Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue, schools and higher education institutions, pharmacies, local charities, care homes, and businesses.
There are six shared outcomes within the strategy:
- Give children and young people the best start in life
- Tackle the wider determinants to prevent ill health
- Support happy and healthy living for all
- Empower patients and carers
- Improve health and care services
- Support and grow our workforce
