UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Current Awareness Updates (CAU) for local authorities

Together with relevant UKHSA teams, UKHSA Knowledge and Library Services produce a series of Current Awareness Updates, which are available on request from libraries@phe.gov.uk or via this link to the Public Health England CAU page.

There are currently four being produced:

A selection of ACAUs, to support UKHSA priorities, are co-produced with UKHSA teams, and are listed below along with their archives:

    • Extreme Weather Events Research Newsletter (monthly)The Extreme Weather Events Research Newsletter is an evidence-based resource developed by the Knowledge and Library Services and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Extreme Events and Health Protection (EEHP) team. the newsletter aims to bring together latest research about extreme weather from around the world to raise awareness and deepen knowledge.

    • Global Health Security (monthly)Global Health Security (GHS) has been identified as a priority both for the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). To support this, the UKHSA’s Global Health Security team have developed this resource to highlight a selection of recent, peer-reviewed publications in the field of global health security. Contact the team to sign up for this update.

      The Infection Current Awareness Update highlights the latest research from infection-related guidance and journals, and new publications from the National Infection Service.

    • Long-COVID (weekly)The UKHSA Knowledge and Library Services has been producing a weekly Long-COVID Research Alert, each Wednesday morning since December 2021, and all issues are available in the Keeping Up To Date tab (option 3), on our Finding the Evidence: Coronavirus page.
    • Mental Health (monthly)
      This CAU highlights the latest research on the risk factors for mental health, preventive interventions, service provision, prevalence and inequalities, and the Prevention Concordat for Better Mental Health programme.

      This update contains content, news, information and journal articles on vector borne diseases caused by ticks and mosquitoes. This is available on request from libraries@phe.gov.uk

  • Monkeypox (weekly)
    This resource aims to highlight a small selection of recent MPX papers that are relevant to UK settings, contain new data, insights or emerging trends. It is published weekly on Thursday evening and uploaded to this site on Friday morning.
