Alongside cardiovascular disease, cancer is one of the biggest killers in Kent. Cancer was recorded as the underlying cause of death in 26% of mortalities in Kent in 2024.
Cancer is by far the biggest killer in people under 70. Cancer was recorded as the underlying cause of death in 36% of premature deaths (deaths under 70 years of age) in Kent in 2024.

Cancer screening and diagnostics summary for Kent & Medway overall on Fingertips Cancer Services profile. It is possible to view this data by primary care network and general practice.
The Cancer Data Hub holds the National Disease Registration Service (NDRS) cancer data dashboards data, including on routes to diagnosis.
Fingertips PHOF profile includes an indicator showing percentage of cancers diagnosed at stages 1 and 2 by district in Kent. The Cancer Data Hub has stage at diagnosis in England.
Two week wait (also known as Urgent suspected cancer referrals) summary for Kent & Medway is available on Fingertips Cancer Services profile.
Incidence and mortality from the Cancer Data Hub provides high level summaries of Cancer incidence. Note that small numbers are suppressed. The Cancer Data Hub also has a number of dashboards on topics related to living with cancer, including inequalities in cancer and the Cancer Life Survey.

Fingertips PHOF profile includes an indicator showing the under 75 cancer mortality rate by district in Kent. There is also an indicator showing the mortality rate of cancers considered preventable. Incidence and mortality from the Cancer Data Hub provides high level summaries of Cancer mortality. Note that small numbers are suppressed.
There are a number of National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS) reports on specific topics. Also see their 'Get Data Out' collection. The National Clinical Audit programme provides information on standards of healthcare being achieved for bowel, head and neck, lung, stomach and prostate cancers. Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer support also publish cancer statistics. European comparisons are available from the European Cancer Information System.
